1. Do you believe whistle-blowing is good for an organization, or is it, as David Stetler believes, often a means to extort large financial gains from companies?
Whistle blowing is an effective mode of checking the organizations unethical activities therefore uprooting wrong activities from the organizations and the society.  Though changing approach due to the rewards associated with it, the concept acts as a lesson to majority of major shenanigans and inclusive abusive systems in the society.  The blowers face unemployment and ridicule in their companies and may be looked down upon with others facing possible life threats.  However, David Statler has a point in that the original intrinsic desire to see a harmonic and highly coterminous society based on values is  fast being replaced by the desire to lay hands on the large amount the blowers get (Weinberg, 2005).
2. How might self fulfilling prophesy affect a whistle blower’s search for incriminating evidence against a company?
With a shift to self fulfilling nature of the emergent whistle blowers in the society, there is tendency to give the wrong information in order to substantiate claims and be paid the waiting reward.  Often, there is a paucity of information in whistle blowing cases leading to the tendency to seek falsehood information to substantiate cases.  It was strongly unethical for Mr. Durand to to use falsehood information that resulted to TAP company inuring vast losses.  Besides, it is clear that they could go to any length to ensure that they collaborate with different malicious individuals in order to gain the money tagged to their cases.  Mr. Stetler indicated that when abused, whistle blowing could easily be abused for individual gains that may be equally if not more harmful to the reported cases (Weinberg, 2005).
3. When frivolous law suits occur, how might these cases affect future whistle blowers who have valid legal claim against their company? Would they be more or less likely to come froward? How might their claims be evaluated? What should companies  and the government do to prevent frivolous lawsuits?
It is clear that with the current trends, people are losing faith in whistle blowing idea.  This has mainly been contributed by frivolous suitcases that acts to scare away the ethical whistle blowers who have genuine cases.  To avoid being grouped with the prior individuals, they are most likely to keep away from reporting the cases.  To substantiate their claims, their cases should be properly investigated before they are judged.  To prevent these Mephistopheles cases in the society, the government and the organizations should establish laws recommending for increased investigations into such cases.  Besides, they should also draw laws to try the deceitful whistle blowers.
4. Do you believe employees of a company have an ethical obligation to first attempt to report wrongdoing to members of the company itself, or should they go straight to the authorities when they suspect illegal activity? What are some advantages and disadvantages of both actions.
To ensure that there is high and ethical considerations of all the activities that organizations take, it would be better to report the same cases to the company management while gathering information to forward the case to the authorities if the vice do not stop. Forwarding and discussing the case with the organization would save it the large amounts it would incur during the legal proceedings.  Besides, it gives the unethical managers time to change.  However, the reporter risks loosing his/ her job in the company.  Besides, one may be shifted to the section that will not allow access to information necessary for whistle blowing.  After realizing that it has been discovered, the accused may change tact of the wrong doing.
Reporting the case direct to the authority risks the company loosing large amounts of money that may even cause closing of the organization.  However, it would be good be good to ensure that there is total consideration and a repeat of the case is fully prevented.  Finally it would serve as a lasting  example for others intending to get involved in such cases.
