DIS 1: If you were to go to the slide in the Ethics Overview PPT you would find the ethical rule of “The Golden Rule” which comes from Judeo-Christian Ethics.  It is commonly referred to.  I have students from across the world indicate that their cultures have a similar formulation of this idea.  The idea is that one should always act in a way the if the situation were reversed, that is the way you would want to be treated.  Thus we have this expression, “do unto others as you would have done to you.”  It is a kind of reciprocity:  treat others as you would wish to be treated.
So for a question on this ethical principle, we might want to ask, is this a good rule?  Is it helpful in the professional world?  Is it realistic?  What are the limitations?  And finally, as you respond to these questions in your post, think of a time when you experienced this rule in action – how you treated another, or how another treated you.

dis 2: There are many ethical and moral standards. Many theorists and practitioners have espoused ethical principles and many books have been written on ethics, and in particular, ethics in the workplace.
One of the most cited models is the one referenced in the Ethics Overview PPT.  It is the Beauchamp and Childress model.  It has stood the test of time and many subscribe to it as a powerful model to provide the underpinnings of mission statements, and codes of conduct, as well as to guide everyday decisions.  Looking at those Five Principles, if you had to choose two, which would they be and why have you chosen them?  Defend your choice that these are the most important principles in the professional life by providing specific examples, drawn from your own experience, jobs you have had, or situations in the world around you that you have observed.  So choose two, and illustrate why you have chosen them.  As a reminder, that model submits:  Do No Harm, Fidelity, Work to Benefit others, Respecting Autonomy, and Justice.
