Scenario  Tyrone is a 16-year-old black inner-city youth who is 1 of the 11 children born to his mother. His various siblings involve seven different “fathers.” He lives with his mother and siblings in a four-room apartment. Tyrone’s mother is in her late 20s and is a heroin addict and part-time prostitute. Tyrone began getting in trouble in school and with juvenile authorities before he was 10-years-old. He reported that he was diagnosed as an alcoholic when he was 13 years old. After being admitted and expelled from three different schools for assault, drug use/possession, and chronic truancy, he dropped out of school at the age of 16. He is currently being held by juvenile authorities for attempted murder. He reportedly stabbed another boy who supposedly owed him money.
