Although you discuss concepts from the theory and mention What Lies Between Us in one paragraph, this essay is not an analysis of the novel through the lens of the theory. The thesis needs to make a claim about the novel through the lens and language of the theory. Then, each body paragraph should analyze specific aspects of the novel in support of that thesis. This essay is not doing that. You are providing a good explanation of feminist theory as it relates to literature and the culture, but the focus needs to be on the analysis of the text. Make a claim about the novel (through the lens of the theory) in your thesis and then have each paragraph advance an idea about the novel related to that thesis. You can revise and submit the essay (one more time) for a grade change whenever you would like before December 17. I would be happy to arrange a Zoom meeting with you to discuss the essay. Your writing is fine. It just needs to respond more directly to the novel. This coming week I have a big two-day meeting on Friday and Saturday that I will be preparing for and I have a number of students who are also trying to meet regarding their essays, so the week of the 15th will have more availability, but I do have times on Wednesday between 9 and 12 and on Thursday between 9 and 2 this week. I also currently have time between 3 and 5 on Thursday. Let me know what works for you. In the meantime, I strongly urge you to read the example essays in Module 04 if you have not yet done so.
