Immigration Reform
This week in our discussion we will be reviewing the differences in points of view among news magazines. As a way of exploring this you are asked to read the following four short articles on the topic of immigrants and immigration reform in the United States that were published in two periodicals: The American Spectator and Dollars & Sense.
Based on how these two periodicals frame these issues, is there any indication that they are conservative or liberal/progressive publications? What about the authors? Who are they? Can you find any information on the internet or in ProQuest that provides any information as to their backgrounds? Do you detect any bias in the way the authors approach the subject of immigration?
