Assignment:
Create a visually appealing, well-organized, detailed, and succinct email expressing your interest in an internship or similar position.
Plan: To develop your email, thoughtfully consider and select specific examples for the following topics:

Your business writing experiences 
Your public speaking experiences
Your research experience in regards to financial, marketing, and other business topics
Your technology expertise with PowerPoint, Excel, web design, etc.
Your team experiences as both a leader and a contributing member
Your past work background as it relates to your current skills and future career goals

Select 2 – 3 examples to include in your email and organize these SPECIFIC, concrete examples into a logical order. Do not merely address topics in a random order—organize them into your own unique and meaningful storyline.
Your introduction should be friendly and appropriately personal. Keep the email audience-centered. Make a connection with the individual sooner rather than later.
Your body paragraph(s) should follow an audience-centered, organizational logic. Make sure your transitions between paragraphs sufficiently connect and introduce your next topic. Include concrete examples (evidence supporting your claims), written with honest and positive language about your experiences, skills, and goals.
Your brief conclusion should be positive, audience-centered, and clarify next communication steps.
Your subject line should be informative, succinct, and generate interest.
Your closing and signature block should build your credibility and provide relevant contact information.
Revise: Say what needs to be said with as few words as possible. Cut, combine, and reorganize sentences to eliminate redundant ideas, wordy or cliché phrases, confusing metaphors, weak verbs, and vague nouns. Make sure the design of your email (layout, font, spacing, etc.) is professional and appropriate to the audience.
Proofread: Read your email closely multiple times to check for proper grammar, spelling, diction, flow, tone, and so forth. Be sure that all required sections are included. When you find no errors, turn in via Canvas.
