2- How can we encourage recycling?  See the video in the link below.  In your opinion, is this an effective way of encouraging folks to be more proactive in recycling?

3- An interesting tidbit:  A point source is one that you can “point” to.  Consider a pipe that discharges into a stream.  That’s a point source, because you can use your finger and “point” to the source.  By contrast, an agricultural region is not a point source, because we can’t “point” to it!!

Question:  What are some examples of point sources of water pollution?  How can these sources be controlled?

4- What is hypoxia?  How is hypoxia created?  How can it be addressed?  Are there any prominent examples of hypoxia in the United States?

5- Please note that the dominant mechanism for gaseous pollutant transport in the atmosphere is dispersion (wind, etc.) and to a much lesser degree distillation.  Solids and liquids are more likely to be transported by distillation.  Because of the global distillation effect, contaminants can get transported to far places…  There have been detections of certain chemical contaminants in the polar regions because of this phenomena.
