Consider how the setting influences risk (e.g., community, institutional care, hospital).

Identify opportunities to prevent falls in the elderly in different settings.

Identify barriers and challenges to implementing prevention strategies and how these may be overcome.

Describe a personal or professional experience you have had in educating an elderly individual about fall prevention, or helping to implement a fall prevention strategy.

Be sure to discuss the challenges you encountered and your solutions.

If you have not had any personal or professional experience of this type, imagine you are working as a health care professional and need to convince an elderly person to use an assistive device (e.g., a walker).
