As a reminder, you will need to post TWICE to this discussion board in order to receive full credit.  Your first posting will be a reply to one of my questions.  This needs to be done before Thursday at 9:00pm.  Then, you will reply a fellow student before Sunday at 9:00pm.

Discussion question options:

1. Talk to me a little bit about the relationship between love and sex.  You can go in a lot of different directions here, so choose what is most interesting to you.

2. Chapter 8 is about childhood and adolescent sexuality.  Let’s pretend that you have a child (for the sake of this discussion, pretend the child is yours, so you’re the one who gets to make the decisions about what to say and when) who asks you “where do babies come from?”  How does your answer differ if the child is 4 years old versus 12 years old?

For this paper I want you to peruse media sources (newspapers, Internet news sources such as The New York Times, National Public Radio, CNN, etc) to find a piece of media that relates to content from the course.  You might find an article about same sex marriage or an article about the latest method of birth control or any other topic that is relevant to course material.  The topic should be timely and relevant to our course (while I think the latest diet fad is interesting, it isn’t particularly relevant to our course).  You are to write a 2-3 page reaction to this article or piece of media.  Give me a very BRIEF overview of the article to provide context but then give me your reaction to the article.  Do you agree/disagree?  Why?  How do your personal values help you interpret the content of the article?  How has knowledge gained during the course increase your understanding of the issue?  Feel free to add more, these questions are intended to get you started.
