Aerobic respiration can be described as a complete breakdown of complex organic molecules, such as glucose into simple inorganic molecules to provide energy as ATP molecules. It takes place only in the presence of oxygen.
Caffeine is one of the available products that can increase the ability to perform aerobic respiration. Caffeine is present in many beverages, such as tea, coffee, and cold drinks. Caffeine increases aerobic performance by increasing the metabolism of fatty acids. This is because fatty acid metabolism provides fatty acids as substrates or fuel for cellular respiration at the place of glycogen.
I use to consume Starbucks coffees, Cuban coffees, and Redbulls, but I can’t drink caffeine anymore. The reason is that I realize that all the products that contain caffeine cause me Supraventricular tachycardia (SVT). It is a common abnormal rhythm of the heart resulting in a very rapid heartbeat. In other words, a heart arrhythmia occurs when your heart beats out of rhythm or throbs twice in the time period when you would typically only do it once. This is given that caffeine is a stimulant and speeds up the heart rate.
Some studies back up the claim of the product’s manufacturer. For example, the New York Times has a study by the Center for Science in the Public Interest on the health effects of caffeine. The study analyzes various claims made about caffeine, and it also offers a useful chart listing the caffeine content in typical drinks and foods. For instance, at 320 milligrams per 16 ounces, a Starbucks grande coffee has over four times the 80 milligrams of the caffeine of a Red Bull. Other findings by the Times and CSPI:

Unless you consume more than 575 milligrams, caffeinated drinks don’t make you pee more.
Coffee does not increase the risk of heart disease or cancer
Even though it stimulates metabolism, caffeine does not increase weight loss. It does aid exercise, however, by dulling pain and stimulating the body to burn fat instead of carbohydrates.

After doing some research, I realize that the majority of the studies said that caffeine does not cause heart disease, but it can cause you heart arrhythmias as I said before. In conclusion, I think that they may do more studies about the consequences of that abnormal rhythm of the heart. However, healthy people that start to consume caffeine can begin with that symptom, and, if they abuse the consumption of caffeine, it can become a heart disease in the long term.
