You should know that IoT is much more than tagging and tracking of objects. While this is valuable in business operations to track products and other resources, IoT is used for many other roles. We use IoT devices to automate and remotely control sensors and other equipment, such as valves on pipes and ducts. In complex manufacturing systems, such controls are essential and common. The electric power industry uses hundreds of IoT sensors in every electrical substation. Cities use IoT controls to synchronize traffic lights and monitor water delivery networks.
For your assignment this week, choose one of the following industries, and research now they use remote sensors and controls to monitor and manage their product networks.

Electric Power Utilities
City water supply systems
Oil and gas extraction and collection networks (from well head to refinery)
Urban traffic monitoring and control networks
Package delivery services (e.g. FedEx or UPS)

Summarize what you learn in 600-1000 words (30 points). Then tell me how integration of these sensors and controls with Internet and IoT devices has impacted the organizations in question (20 points).
