Then, complete Assignment 3 Lab: Final Report (also using the scanned documents and document W2 A3)
Write a 3- to 5-page report (not including the reports in the appendices) including all of the sections below and submit it to the W5 Assignment 3 Dropbox by Week 5, Day 6.
Label the headings as follows:
Introduction/Purpose/Statement of Problem: Include a short explanation of the objectives for completing a food log. Please explain why it is necessary for you to complete a food log. Make a hypothesis about your diet, e.g., “I eat sufficient calories. I do not eat enough carbohydrates or fat, but I consume excess protein. I eat out too much and do not drink enough water.”
Methods/Procedure: Discuss what days you chose to conduct your dietary analysis and why you chose these three days.
Results/Data: My age is 21 and weight is 117 lb.
PART A: Make a graph (pie chart, line graph, etc.) graphing the amount of calories consumed versus those suggested based on your age and weight.
Create a 2nd graph (pie chart, line graph, etc.) graphing the amount of proteins, fats, and carbohydrates consumed versus those suggested for your age and weight. Be sure to label your axes with units (i.e., grams).
PART B: Create a comparison table with the amount of nutrients you consumed versus those required for your age and weight.
Discussion or Analysis: Written discussion/reflection about your dietary patterns (1–2 pages, including at least 2 properly formatted APA in-text citations).
Based on your food journal and what you have learned about recommended nutrient intake (and physical activity), include the answers to the following questions (and any others you want to include) as part of your analysis.
Reflecting on the questions above, and any other patterns you noticed as you analyze your diet, what can improve or stay the same?
Conclusions: Summarize and explain your findings, analysis, and/or inferences. This is where you would also refer to the initial hypothesis (was your hypothesis correct?). Restate your hypothesis and discuss whether you were right or not about your dietary habits/patterns.
References: Cite the references/resources you use for the report. Remember to use in-text references and a reference list.
Appendices: Place all the reports of your analysis here. This includes your original 3-day food log, your graphs, and nutrients table.
