Answer the following questions in chronological order and return your answers to me as an attachment to an email. You may use the textbook, but you may not consult or collaborate with anyone. 1. Your company (you are the CEO) has branch offices in several different countries. In those branch offices located outside the U.S., the company has almost 1,000 employees. You have directed your company’s human relations manager to provide you with a memorandum advising you whether U.S. law, foreign law where your branches are located, or both, will apply to decisions made regarding employment issues, including hiring, promoting, and firing of employees. Prepare a brief memo that the HR manager would prepare.

2. Your company is also considering hiring quite a few new employees for its Philadelphia branch. You are hoping however to bring “employees” in as independent contractors rather than as employees. Describe the benefits a company might have with independent contractors as opposed to employees.

3. You are a concert promoter and have entered into a contract with a very popular band to do the music at a New Year’s Eve gala. Just today, December 17, the band’s leader has advised you that the band will be unable to make the New Year’s Eve engagement. You are devastated, as the concert is sold out. Describe in detail the remedy you will seek immediately. What will you have to prove? Explain also in detail what claims you will make and what remedies you will seek if the band does not show on New Year’s Eve.

4. Explain why DNA evidence, blood types, and fabric evidence can be introduced at a criminal trial, while polygraph test results cannot.
