Steps for Video 1:

1. Sign up for an EdPuzzle Teacher account.

3. Save this video in your EdPuzzle library.
4. Play and carefully watch Video 1, “Connect Video 6: Dialogic Reading with Katy.”
5. Trim at least two sections of the video.
6. Then, add your voiceover explaining what you have observed. Make sure to include what you are seeing without your judgments or interpretations. Make sure to take into account the following identified objectives for this assignment:
7. Understand how adults scaffold children’s thinking through dialogic reading and read-aloud activities.
8. Appreciate how to promote a positive attitude toward literary experiences.
9. Understand developmentally appropriate practices in which literature can and does support the goals of early childhood education.

Understanding the implications of how to implement research-based instructional practices using writing to develop students’ comprehension of text.

Understanding of implementation of research-based practices in comprehension, oral language, phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, and vocabulary to differentiate instruction for all students.

Explaining how to implement research-based instructional practices for developing students’ higher-order thinking.
