Debates on Organizational Power and Politics

On Day 1 of this week, your instructor will post an Announcement assigning you to one of the following two groups: Positive Group or Negative Group.  Create a video or screen-capture multimedia addressing the discussion questions associated with the group you were assigned.  Refer to the Screencast-O-Matic Quick-Start Guide and visit Screencast-O-Matic website to get started. You could use Jing. Include a link to the video and the script in your initial response. Your initial post should be at least 300 words. Support your response with a minimum of two scholarly sources.  Post your initial response in the group you were assigned above.

Guided Response:  In your responses to classmates, select two classmates who were assigned a different group than you.  Respond to their posts using at least 100 words by Day 7.  No video is required for your responses.

    What are positive impacts on an organization when its members exercise power and play political games within Mintzberg’s Political Game Playing framework?  Give examples and/or your personal experiences regarding positive impacts.
