Questions to consider:
.) Compare and contrast Richard B. Moore’s political activism in New York and the Caribbean with the activism of members of the Chicago Freedom Movement for fair housing. Which social justice concerns did they have in common, and how did their political interests differ? Provide at least two concrete examples.
.) Think about the interview by a white woman in the documentary film who said white and black residents did NOT benefit from desegregation of residential housing in Chicago, but real estate agents were the only people who benefited from the fair housing movement in Chicago. Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Explain. What do you think Richard B. Moore would say about this issue?
.) If you wrote a theatrical play or script for a film about the Chicago Freedom Movement for fair housing, who would be the primary characters/ historical actors?  Write several sentences of dialogue between these characters.
.) Consider the history of race riots in America– violent uprisings that pitted blacks against whites in major cities across the country. The overwhelmingly negative outcomes of race riots included death, bodily injury, and destroyed property. Can you think of any “positive” aspect of race riots? If so, or if not, why? Explain. Draw upon examples from the Detroit race riot that you learned about in the documentary film “Two Societies.”
