Brief Description- Following the aftermath of a number of corporate scandals, business ethics has become an increasingly vital issue. Today’s business people are often required to make informed ethical decisions on a daily basis. As a result, business programs across the nation are integrating ethics into their curriculum. During this WebQuest you will learn the basics of business ethics; key ethical theories; review issues of insider trading, fraud, corporate responsibility, outsourcing, and mergers and acquisitions. You will complete an ethics survey and reflect on the findings. You will also complete a series of guiding questions that will help you to learn key concepts. Finally, popular entertainment media has successful presented issues of business ethics. These movies provided excellent vehicles for the identification and analysis of ethical issues as applied to contemporary business practices. You will need to rent (I suggest either OnDemand or Netflicks rental service) and watch one of the assigned movies that focuses on one or more of the ethical issues you have researched. You will prepare a PowerPoint presentation that includes answers to all the requisite questions as well as provides a plot summary and an ethical analysis of the film, additionally you will need to address anything specified in the project. Upon completing this project you will have gained experience identifying and analyzing key ethical issues. This is a fun project; however, it should be started earlier rather than later.
