Study looked at injuries happening to law enforcement officers and citizens while using use-of-force in the events that they had to. Most use of force is minimal, with officers using their hands, arms or bodies to push or pull against a suspect to gain complete control. Officers are also trained to use a range of other force techniques and weapons to overcome confrontation. These consist of non-lethal weapons such as pepper spray, batons or conducted energy devices (CEDs) for example Tasers. They can also use firearms to defend themselves or others against threats of death or serious bodily injuries. These future trends using use of non-lethal force have a huge impact of law enforcement agency. Officers will have to attempt to control a situation by using pepper spray, baton and or Tasers. Granted firearms are still traditional issue, law enforcement agencies are stressing the use of non-lethal weapons rather than the use of a firearm. Pepper spray was with the first of non-lethal weapons to achieve widespread approval by police forces, and newly, conducted energy devices (CEDs) better known as a Taser. Taser are becoming widespread. In my opinion the current policies and training for use of non-lethal force  we will see a great decrease in injuries to officers and suspects,  decrease in personnel complaints,  decrease  liability in lawsuits, and an get stronger public image for your law enforcement agency.
