Down Came  a Black Bird
Edgar Allan Poe was a head of his time. His  poem The Raven opened many doors in American Romanticism.  The poem contains several elements that can be  used to analyze it. There is the type of person view  you want to focus on, there is the theme of the poem and what symbolic ideas that It holds the time of romanticism was a very important time for America. It set the basis for many of the future poets to have a chance to make a name for their selves. Edgar Allen Poe expressed a lot of emotion through this poem. This paragraph is badly written, Ms. Morgan, and is not organized well. What is your thesis? Will you research the elements of the poem, its influence on other authors, or its Romantic characteristics? You mention these but do not make clearly what your focus will be in the paper.
Edgar Allen Poe’s poem  in narrated in first person , indicated by “I.” The poem is about his lover who just past, then how a new raven came knocking on his door sounding like he was speaking her name  and saying “Nevermore.” This shows that the theme of the poem that he will probably never be able to be with anyone else. He could be a  naïve narrator with his first-person view. There seems to be a dark plot line in poem . The piece deals with a lot of dark imagery and what is going on in the mind of the narrator. There was a lot of conflict between the narrator and himself. He is still morning his lover Lenore. And he feels that he is going to be left alone.  The setting of the poem which was a dark and dreary evening.  The theme of the poem would be  grief and depression from losing his beloved.
