The team of 10 college women outsmarted the 66-year-old brand of the radio industry, and worsens the image of Don Imus by the minute.

She pointed out the cluelessness of Don Imus to make a remark to the women athletes, without having any idea upon their personality. She cited out the comments of the Rutgers Coach Vivian Stringer about the characteristics of her team, being “ladies of class and distinction. ” On the Imus’ case, what she wrote on her article is a response and probably a description on what kind of women does Imus commented upon; not just a women, not “nappy headed hoes.

” Truly, a response made to realize that Don Imus mess with the wrong people. On the other side of the issue, another writer of USA Today, Peter Johnson describes a “close eye on Imus. ” People are now on watch on the case of Imus. Some critics, as he wrote, were not satisfied on the network sanctions upon Imus, demanding further “responsibility for continuing to air Don Imus after years of similarly bigoted language. ”
Johnson also included two presidential candidates who both accepted Don Imus’ apology: Senator John McCain and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee. Both Republicans deemed Imus genuinely sorry. Though the case of Don Imus and Rutgers opened the floodgates of criticisms, what matters most is the significant effect of these criticisms to concerned parties. People have their own voices, many of which wanted to be heard. On the case of Imus, his voice, which vibrated through the airwaves, can never be taken back.
