Final Report
Now that you have completed your Scholar-Practitioner Project: Final Presentation, it is time to share what you have done.
To prepare for this Scholar-Practitioner Project Assignment, review your experience preparing and delivering your presentation in the community. Reflect on the challenges and rewards of shining a light on the issues presented in this class. Was your audience receptive to these ideas? What message seemed to resonate best? What perspectives did you gain from listening to your audience?
To complete this Scholar-Practitioner Project Assignment, write a 7- to 10-page final report due to your Instructor by Day 3 that includes:
1. Issue summary—3–4 pages highlighting the focus of your project. What population health issue did you present? Why is it a significant issue (i.e., how does it relate to the determinants of health you have studied over the last 11 weeks?) Why was it important to you? What is currently known about the barriers to addressing this issue or what needs further investigation to advance the field of population health? This summary should be based on the literature review you completed in Week 6.
2. Program information—2–3 pages explaining how you disseminated your information. How many people attended? What went well? What could you improve on in future programs?
3. Evaluation summary—2–3 pages evaluating the project planning and implementation. Did the participants express their acquiring new information? What did you learn by doing this? In addition, please provide your analysis of what was successful about your project. What could you do differently to improve future programs like this? How does dissemination of this information create changes necessary to prevent disease and disability through the reduction of inequality and inequities in health? Your evaluation should be done as a single assessment techniques as an anonymous survey/questionnaire or through using observation techniques.
Your written assignments must follow APA guidelines. Be sure to support your work with specific citations from this week’s Learning Resources and additional scholarly sources as appropriate. Refer to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association to ensure your in-text citations and reference list are correct.
