Today’s class, we will evaluate the issue of race and policing. We look at laws and statistics that provide a view of how to address a current crisis.

2. Answer the following Questions within 300 to 500 words:
1. According to Shots Fired Part 1, the statistics discussed showed that there was not an increase in police violence against African Americans, but what startling fact did it reveal about African Americans shootings compared to whites?
2. List at least three parts from Shots Fired Part 1 that most shocked you and explain why.  I recommend that you mention something from the beginning, middle and towards the end.  Do not provide all three examples from the first 15 minutes of the podcast.  You need to demonstrate that you heard the entire podcast.
3. In More Perfect Presents: Mr. Graham and the Reasonable Man, what was your personal opinion regarding Mr. Graham, was the way he was treated reasonable?  First explain what happened and then answer the question. Why or why not?
4. What are the downfalls of the supreme court case in Mr. Graham and the Reasonable Man?  Is it being used the way it was originally intended by the Supreme Court? Explain.
5. In the state of Washington and some other states, police are not required to render aid to someone they just shot.  This was the case for Che Taylor, an unarmed African American that was shot by police in Seattle.  He was shot by police and was never rendered any aid and died.  Should police officers be required to render aid to people they have shot? Yes or No.  Explain your answer.
6. The state of Washington just voted I-940.  What is this new initiative and discuss whether you support it or are against it.  Please explain your answer.
7. Does race place a role in how whites and blacks are treated by police?  Why or Why not? Explain your answer.  Before you answer please read the following
