Correlation does not imply causality
Correlation refers to mutual relationship or connection between two or more variables. It is a concept used to indicate that occurrence of one event or behaviour of one variable depends on occurrence of another event. On the other hand, causality is simply the indication that, what is occurring in one scenario is as a result of what is occurring on the other (event Rosenthal, 2012). 
It is therefore, imperative true to say hat, correlation does not imply causality because of the reason that change or changes in one of the variable does not usually indicate that this change is caused by that change in the other variable as it is the case for causality. It is also clearly true that simply because two variables are in correlation, this does not mean that, it is necessary that, one variable causes the changes in the other variable It is also important to note that, a correlation relationship can be inferred to be caused by a third factor that is supposedly known to be affecting the two variables noted to be correlated. In light of the above description therefore, correlation may not necessarily mean causality (In Morlini, et al., 2015).
