First Post:

Denny Brown is a talented leader in the business world. Individuals like Brown are critical to the success of driving value from business information systems. Brown faced many challenges in creating a process-oriented organization such as economic challenges, environmental challenges, and the highly regulated industry by the government. The main requirement for creating a process-oriented culture is “identifying a clear vision for information services” (Raghu, 2010). Another requirement is implementing an agenda with business process transformation. Pinnacle West addresses these requirements by dividing processes into four broad areas: strategic processes, development processes, operations processes, among many other support processes. I believe it is necessary to push the process-oriented culture to the entire company because the article identified a clear vision the company set forth which is “One team working with our customers to advance and transform the business”. It is vital to work as a team across the board so the goals, mission, and values can be met on one accord. A lesson I learned from the Pinnacle West case is to always set a clear foundation for what you are trying to accomplish. Just like any other aspect of life, a solid foundation is necessary. I will apply this lesson at my current organization by always setting clear goals and visions for my team while promoting a team environment. Management is the core of promoting a process-oriented culture because the management team has first-hand knowledge and information of the areas needed for improvement. Managers could be more proactive to identify problems and solutions before it grows out of control. For example, if a manager sees room for improvement on a certain process, he/she should not wait for the problem to grow, instead implement a new process as soon as possible to eliminate any future concerns.

Second Post:

The first challenge faced through Denny Brown is the confrontation of workers and the managerial culture which has been reliable since the inception of the business 120 years ago. The process-oriented representation would influence every worker working in the association because they would have to transform their working method as well as their reporting arrangement.  The next challenge that Brown faced contains the integration of all the information which is achieved during transmission as well as substation requirements to be defined in a way that forecasting could be completed exactly.
Unfortunately, developing a process-oriented team does not start by finding results-oriented individuals. It starts by defining the results you want to achieve, then finding people who are capable and motivated to achieve them. The necessary requirement for creating a process-oriented culture are the business needs formal structure although it is dependent upon the workers in order to acquire the work completed. A few other necessary requirements are to develop a maintenance culture. The maintenance organization at the time of the change initiative had one individual with expertise in handling diagnostic tools and data (Raghu, 2015).  Pinnacle West and APS have been facing difficulties about clear communication set of rules for the center of the association to its subsidiary.  Additionally, the main concerns that are being located by the business to bring alteration in the business need alignment with the business strategic objectives as well as dream as discussed in the situation. Yes, It is very necessary to push the process-oriented culture as Brown is certain the functional model has run its course. According to (Raghu, 2015) “A process engineering services (PES) group was created to provide support for information services processes and continuous improvement. Having in place a process-oriented system would more likely develop information innovation within the organization as a whole.
The lessons that I feel I could learn from the Pinnacle West circumstance, are to truly evaluate what has been done in the past and recreate information service initiatives. The professional development initiative was geared toward acquiring the skills and training necessary to embark on business process optimization (Raghu, 2015). Next lesson is to find the individuals with the skills and train them with the process-oriented mindset. Resolutions were made that the business’ customary valuable model was costly and unsuccessful, and that a change to an additional procedure arranged representation would yield additional amazing results in the coming years.
