Welcome to Week 14. We are going to start the week by reading an article from MIS Quarterly, which is the number one ranked journal in information systems. This weeks article is titled How Information Technology Strategy and Investments Influence Firm Performance: Conjecture and Empirical Evidence, Sunil Mithas, Roland Trust, 2016. 

This article supports two of the courses learning objectives. This is not an easy read for most and this article may have to be read a few times, therefore do not save the reading until the end of the week. 

There is no discussion this week, as I want you to focus on the article. 

The article’s topic is IT strategy and which constitutes a large area of research in information technology, there is a relationship between IT and business, which is identified and supported by the Strategic Alignment Model (Henderson and Venkatraman, 1999). This article is less about the Strategic Alignment Model and more about the problem that the researchers have identified and explained throughout the paper. 

The focus of this weeks assignment will be regarding the questions asked in the paper. Additionally, please read this chapter in the course textbook:
Chapter 18, “Sustainable Urban Development, Governance and Policy: A Comparative Overview of EU Policies and Projects
