Art Gallery Project
Students will “create” their own art gallery space, deciding what type of art is displayed.
Students will “collect” twelve pieces of art, with at least ten being visual, and will explain how each piece of art fits into their gallery. Each piece of art must have a title and an artist. Students will write a brief paragraph for eight of the pieces. This paragraph must include why the specific piece of art was chosen and explain how it fits into the overall gallery scheme.
Students will also write a one-page document that explains the “scheme” of the gallery. This should detail the environment that the art is viewed in. What do the walls and floor look like? Do the patrons see the art in a particular order? Who is the gallery geared toward?
Students will write a two sentence “mission statement” for their gallery. This will explain the type of art that you are showing and why it is important.
Students will give a 3-minute presentation of their gallery
