i) Good databases for compiling the bibliography include the Avery Index, the Bibliography of the History of Art, and WorldCat ( library’s website).

 ii) Sources in the bibliography must be listed according to the Chicago Style standards (see Hacker, Pocket Style Manual).

 iii) Scholarly journals that are published on-line may be used. Websites are NOT acceptable UNLESS you justify them by explaining the qualifications or credentials of the author/s, and explaining the method of obtaining the information (such as results of investigation utilizing computer modeling, formal analysis, etc.). An adequate justification must accompany the citation on every bibliography submitted (including for the final paper)

ii) Consider it to be technical writing, although — if you have visited the building — your reactions and perceptions may be valid things to report briefly.

 iii) The paper must have the apparatus required of a research paper: citations, proper format for direct quotes, and a bibliography. You must cite sources for all information that did not come out of your own head (both direct quotes and information put in your own words). Citations in the notes (endnotes only: NO footnotes) and bibliography must be made according to the Chicago Style standards
