Conceptual Identification

(apply key concepts, terminology, and   methodologies in the analysis of various visual and performing arts)

  1. Composition – Is it interesting? Does it flow? Does the artwork draw the viewer        in? 
  2. Color -Explain the artist’s use of        color (e.g., complementary colors, primary colors, analogous colors,        monochromatic colors, etc.)

Analysis of Artwork – Include 3 pictures   (different pictures from those above) of the artist’s works of art, and   analyze those works of art as they pertain   to and/or identify with the following contexts:

  2. Social (of or relating to society        or its organization)

  • Did the student use/demonstrate at        least 3 of the techniques and concepts covered throughout the semester?

Requirements for the project/report

Each student will create a report based on the required items in the grading rubric and one painting to go with this report. There is no minimum or maximum amount of pages for the report. The report should be printed on standard printer paper.

Acceptable sources for this project include:

  • Articles      found in magazines, newspapers, and art journals.
  • Online      sources*.
  • Personal      interviews with art historians, art teachers, museum curators, gallery      owners, the actual artist, etc.
  • Videos.

*Do not use Wikipedia as a source for project material.

You must use a minimum of five sources for your project/report.
